PLAYING WITH NUMBERS (POST 6)

Image
Today is a revision of HCF OR GCD by Prime Factorization method.  If you already know how to do the sums, please go ahead and complete the task given to you. Remember that you now need to increase your speed at doing these sums.  TIME YOURSELF . In this video the teacher will explain to you how to find the HCF by prime factorization. I have chosen this video because she explains the method very slowly. This is specially chosen for those students who find it difficult to understand when a teacher speaks fast in class.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PAAAUj0SEE This is a worksheet chosen for you. Please solve the sums in your rough notebook. Write down your answers in the comments box given below. If you have a problem, you may type your question too.

GOOD MORNING BOYS!                                                                                      My name is Mrs Preetika sawhney . I will be teaching you Maths, your favourite subject.   You have attended the first period in mathematics and you have already read what factors and multiples are all about. I was told that you did this topic in class 5 also!!!!! Let me check if you remember List the first five multiples for each of the numbers: 3 - 3, 6, 9, 12, 15. 5 - 7 - 10 -  6 - 13 -  20 -  List all the factors for each number: 8 -  24 - 1,2,3,4,8,12 and 24    → 14  -  15 -  10 -    20 -  This one is tricky....but I am sure you can do this👍 ( answers -i-b  ii-d   iii-a   iv-f   v-e)  Coud you understand now! So now you are clear  1 is a factor of every number Every number is a factor of itself Every factor is less than or equal to the number. A factor divides a number completely ie remainder is zero. Good morning boys ! Welcome to another class of math. You have already revised   factors and multiples, even -odd ,prime -composit e numbers and prime factorisation . I hope you are co nfident about these concepts. Today we will revise  - RULES OF DIVISIBILITY 1. WHICH OF THE NUMBERS GIVEN BELOW ARE DIVISIBLE - a)    by   2 41  86  72  93   57  b)  by 3 13   312  12   56   90 c)  by 4  312   413   616   214  500 d)  by   5 110     125    237   114   370 e)  by  6  66   47   321   92   46 f)    by   9   72   621  82   990  18 g)    by   10 50  354   75   450  132 DIVISIBILITY BY 11 RULE - Subtract the last digit from the number formed by the remaining digits. Example- Is 396 divisible by 11?  39-6 = 33 since 33 is divisible by 11 , so 396 if divisible by 11. 2. Which of the following numbers are divisible by 11?   132     233   209   497   594 This is all for today ... HAVE A GOOD DAY!
